LUBBOCK, TX – JBS USA has reached a labor agreement with UFCW Local 7, ending the strike at its Greeley, Colorado beef facility and restoring normal operations. The resolution brings stability back to one of the nation’s major beef processing plants, an important link in the U.S. cattle supply chain.
The contract runs through April 2028 and follows the company’s previously offered economic framework. Wage increases include $0.70 at ratification and additional raises in 2026 and 2027, along with one-time bonuses. The agreement does not include a pension; instead, it continues a 401(k) structure after union leadership shifted funds toward wages.
Operations at the Greeley plant are critical to regional cattle markets. Disruptions at large processing facilities can impact fed cattle movement, pricing, and packer capacity across the High Plains.
JBS noted the agreement allows the facility to resume full production and maintain supply chain continuity. The company also emphasized long-term investment in the plant and the surrounding rural economy.
Farm-Level Takeaway: Restored packing capacity supports stability in the cattle market.
