WASHINGTON, DC – The EPA’s latest biofuel blending proposal could significantly increase demand for U.S. soybean oil.
The rule would increase biomass-based diesel requirements by 67% between 2025 and 2026 and reduce credits for imports, favoring domestic feedstocks such as soy.
If adopted, the proposal could drive more use of soy oil in biodiesel and renewable diesel. The American Soybean Association says it’s a strong signal for U.S. producers.
A final decision from the EPA is expected later this year.
