WASHINGTON, DC – Biofuel producers expressed strong support for EPA’s proposed Renewable Fuel Standard volumes during a virtual hearing this week.

The rule sets conventional ethanol blending levels at 15 billion gallons for both 2026 and 2027. Industry groups, including the Renewable Fuels Association and Clean Fuels Alliance America, praised the move, calling it a step forward for U.S. energy and ag policy.

Concerns persist over the potential for abuse of small refinery exemptions, which reduce the total blending volume. Stakeholders urged the EPA to apply exemptions carefully and maintain overall blending targets.

The new standards are expected to support rural economies and boost feedstock demand through biodiesel and renewable diesel production.
