USDA: More Corn, Cotton, and Soybeans in 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – USDA released their latest crop production forecast on Tuesday. Their November report projected year-over-year increases for corn, soybeans, and cotton in the United States based on conditions as of November 1, 2021.

Corn production for grain is forecast at 15.1 billion bushels, up 7 percent from 2020. Yields are expected to average 177 bushels per harvested acre, up 5.6 bushels from last year.

Soybean production for beans is forecast at 4.42 billion bushels, up 5 percent from last year. Yields are expected to average 51.2 bushels per harvested acre up .2 bushel from 2020.

All cotton production is forecast at 18.2 million 480-pound bales, up 25 percent from 2020, yields are expected to average 880 pounds per harvested acre, up 33 pounds from 2020. Upland cotton production is forecast at 17.9 million 480-pound bales, up 27 percent from 2020. Pima cotton production is forecast at 346,000 bales, down 37 percent from 2020.
